[edit] Study Groups

One of the goals of the club is to perform extracurricular activities to contribute to students experience and portfolio. These activities revolve around groups of club members seeking to complete a unique project that interests them or to collaborate in periodical sessions to develop special skills and contribute to discussion. As employers value extracurricular activities while you study your degree very high, it's very advantageous to join one of these subgroups or create your own with the support of the club.

Be mindful that your interests do not have to be restricted by your skill set or the skills built within your course and that other students outside of the school/university should be more than welcome to contribute (and become a club member ;)).

For instance if you are a good coder wanting to develop a great application, game mod, or game engine, and you don't wish to bring your below average digital media skills to the project you can very well seek students from another school (film and media for example) who are very interested in contributing their skills in their area (media) while you focus on what you do best in your area (coding).

In the industry this is a very typical scenario, where a coder will work with digital artists to produce a outcome and if you are able to demonstrate skills in collaborating with others from entirely different fields you really put yourself ahead of the rest!
